Centreville Elementary School is proud to have a 95% English achievement rate on the 2024 Reading SOL, surpassing district and state averages. Our commitment to academic excellence is evident in our rigorous curriculum, innovative teaching methods, and dedicated staff.

A Positive and Supportive Culture

Our school culture centers on creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students. On the Family Engagement Survey, families overwhelmingly report positive experiences at our school and more than 90% of our students report that they feel supported. Many of our families share that their children have achieved significant academic and personal growth since coming to our school! 

Strong School-Community Partnerships

We believe in the power of a united, engaged community and are always looking for ways to involve our families! Through programs like Family Fitness 4 a Cause, a year-long initiative uniting school staff, students, and families for fun exercise, games, and community support, we're making a positive impact. Join us for weekly summer cookouts in July! These community favorites offer free meals, library books, and family tours. 

Developing Future Leaders

At Centreville Elementary School, we believe in fostering student leadership and empowering students to make a positive impact on their community. Our student-led programs, such as the Green Team, Student Council, and Unified Sports Team, provide students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and make a difference.

Purple Star School and Eco Stewardship 

We’re a school that makes a difference! Centreville Elementary School is proud to be recognized as a Purple Star School, a designation that acknowledges our commitment to supporting military-connected families. We have also been featured in articles for our innovative outdoor classroom and vernal pond initiatives, and we are the first elementary school in the nation to receive a 4th and permanent Green Eco flag from National Wildlife Federation!

State-of-the-Art Resources

Centreville Elementary School  is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and resources that support student learning and development. Our mindfulness labs, calming spaces in each classroom, and outdoor learning areas provide students with opportunities to connect with nature and practice self-regulation. Additionally, our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) lab, dedicated Literacy and Math Labs, and murals throughout the building create a stimulating and engaging learning environment.

Strong Academic Growth

Our commitment to providing a high-quality education is evident in our students' academic achievements. Over the past two years, student scores on the Science SOL have increased by 27%!

Global Connections and Future-Focused Learning

Through our partnership with Sonny Bilingual School, in Costa Rica, we are committed to providing students with global experiences and opportunities for growth. Our partnership with George Mason University also allows us to offer future educators valuable internship experiences and strengthen our teaching team with talented new educators.
