Below are the write-ups submitted by one Centreville Elementary school parent.

Amy Heiman, Centreville ES

"My child couldn't speak English before immigrating to the US, but Mrs. Heiman came to the classroom everyday for him and taught him English, because of this, my child was able to speak simple sentences within seven months. I thank Mrs. Heiman for her passion and for being such a wonderful influence on my child."

Nia Manoleras, Centreville ES

"It has only been 7 months since we immigrated to America and my child didn't know anything about school. He lost confidence in adapting to the United States, but he is growing and learning so fast because she helped him in so many ways. My child has gained enough confidence to even raise his hand in class now and he has many close friends he can have fun with. Mrs. Manoleras has amazing teaching methods and her love for the children is so deep."

Jaclyn Otchy, Centreville ES

"My child had a hard time after my family immigrated here, but you kept trying to listen to her, encourage her, and open up her heart so she would not be nervous to go to school. She loves you as a teacher so much. I'm so thankful that you supported and helped my daughter do special activities everyone else does, it makes her feel confident. You are an amazing teacher."

Sook Smith, Centreville ES

"Our family has been working with Ms. Smith for a long time. She is not just interpreter. From what we've seen, we believe she  genuinely cares about our son/daughter and our family. She truly works with her passion and it makes a huge impact to us. We can't thank her enough."

"I am extremely grateful for you, thank you for helping my daughter with English. Our family immigrated here a few months ago and you were able to recognize her personality and great potential in her right away. You also gave her confidence by allowing her to make a kimbap project for the class. You are an excellent teacher."
