After spending months raising trout in classroom fish tanks, students at Centreville Elementary School see the results of their environmentally-conscious work when they release the trout into a natural stream.

Students in suburban Centreville are raising trout to release in a rural Virginia stream. Through it all, they're learning a valuable lesson in caring for the environment.

Centreville Elementary has been recognized by the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children as a 2023 Purple Star School.
